MassCONNECT 2013 Graduates Hold Final Showcase

In December, the nine startups who participated in MassBio’s MassCONNECT mentorship program throughout the year  joined together for a final showcase and reception. The 4th Annual NewCo Showcase and Reception was held at the Cooley offices in Boston and gave entrepreneurs a chance to present their updated pitches after eight to ten weeks of working with mentor teams of seasoned industry professionals. The night concluded with a reception where attendees enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and 15 second company pitches from the entrepreneurs. Thank you to all who joined us for this festive event in spite of some unfavorable snowy weather conditions! MassCONNECT will start up for 2014 soon so stay tuned!

AblaCor Medical

AblaCor Medical  is a medical device company that is developing a revolutionary ablation product called the CircumBlator™ PVI Ablation System for the treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib). The CircumBlator’s comprehensive solution will provide safer, shorter, easier-to-perform, and more effective catheter ablation procedures.

LuminaCare Solutions

LuminaCare Solutions is a Healthcare IT Company focused on patient data for optimization of clinical trials. LuminaCare’s lead technology is a platform that integrates patient characteristics, clinical data, and testing algorithms to provide personalized dosing for patients to maintain efficacy while reducing side effects.

Boston 3T Biotechnologies

Boston 3T Biotechnologies is developing genetically engineered T-cells as therapeutic for treating lymphomas and solid tumors. The therapeutic mechanism is based on the mobilization of the patient’s own immune cells, which will lead to the killing of the cancer cells.

Pattern Genomics

Pattern Genomics has developed a novel software platform called Daydreamer that enables simultaneous pattern analysis and molecular assay design based on large-scale DNA sequencing data.

Nivarta

Nivarta is an early stage drug discovery company that is focused on identifying novel gut secreted proteins that are involved in gastric bypass surgery mediated alleviation of diabetes and weight loss.

AWARE Engineering, LLC

iOmics Corporation is developing an exciting bioinformatics (molecular biology & computer science) based platform technology within the personalized medicine space. The FUSION platform utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) based techniques to improve diagnostic/prognostic accuracy of next generation sequencing and related bioassay technologies.

Biological Inference

Investigators have created a 3D machine vision system that reveals the actions and action assembly statistics that define the behaviorome via depth cameras to image and capture the 3D morphology of a mouse in real-time as it behaves.
